WELCOME TO Respiratory Medicine



 

The department of Respiratory Medicine is conducting several courses viz, M.D. Respiratory, B.Sc. Respiratory Therapy with annual intake of Six and Ten students per academic year respectively under WBUHS.

The department runs OPD six days a week and has speciality clinics including Asthma Clinic, COPD Clinic, DPLD Clinic, Cancer Clinic, OSA Clinic with a sixty bedded IPD (With RCU 4 bedded) with more than 90% bed occupancy throughout the year. The department conducts regular academic seminars, clinical and Theory classes for Post Graduate M.D. Students and Respiratory Therapy students

Apart from, routine clinical work and academic sessions catering to the needs of the patients and the students, the Department is very active in organising CMEs and conferences, undertaking clinical trials and other research activities. The faculties and the residents are quite regular in bringing out publications in peer-reviewed journals.

In the department Several procedures are being done including USG, USG guided aspiration, Lymph Node FNAC, USG guided FNAC and Tru-cut Biopsy, Bronchoscopy inclusing normal & Cryobiopsy, Thoracoscopy, EBUS, Polysomnography, PFT & D.L.C.O.

NTEP clinic runs daily and Sputum and other body fluids are tested for Tuberculosis daily by CBNAAT and slide examination in NTEP Laboratory.

We have a library cum study room which has books, magazines and research paper of eminent authors. We also have Seminar Room in which our Academic sessions take place.

The dedicated faculty members, Residents and the non teaching staffs work tirelessly to uphold the esteemed of the department.
