WELCOME TO Dentistry

As Dental and Oral diseases was rising and a  risk for overall health; 32 permanent teeth and 20 deciduous teeth contribute an important part of human body. Hence, it was decided by the authorities to include dentistry in the medical education and around early 1960’s, department of dentistry was opened in Nilratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital.

In the present day, the department of Dentistry is a state of art department equipped with modern dental equipments including automatic electrically operated dental chairs, R.V.G., thermocautery machine, ultrasonic scalers, light curing units, etc.

The poor and needy patients are benefitted with various treatments like surgical extractions, cyst eneucleation, RCT, pulpectomy, periodontal Plastic and aesthetic surgeries, different types of restorations.

The Department of Dentistry is located on the second floor of the OPD building and is marked as Room No. 17. Our department has two minor operation Theatres, one consultation and examination room, one seminar room.
