N.R.S. Medical College Central Library is one that has no parallel & no equal at least in this state so far as the medical college libraries are concerned. It has a vast collection of medical books and journals on almost all the medical and peripheral subjects. It is growing exponentially with addition of good number of books, journals (both Indian and foreign), CD, and other non-book materials year by year.
It is situated on the 2nd & 3rd floor of the Academy Building covering 4000 M² (approx) area. The interior of the library has been totally revamped. The reading rooms and the seating capacity of the library has been increased drastically as per the guideline of M C I for 250, U G intake per year. The books and journals are arranged scientifically as per International Classification Scheme “Dewey Decimal Classification” (20th Ed.).
The E - Library have been totally rearranged with addition new Desk top Computers. The Internet facilities have been augmented by connecting with National Knowledge Network. The Computers and the INTERNET in the Library are being utilized fully by the faculties, P.G. Students and Undergraduate Students. Now the NRS Medical College is Institutional Member of British Council Library, Kolkata in the category of access + online.
But the library is working under tremendous constrain due to depletion in the staff strength. The shortage of the staff is telling much on the health of the library services. However a small, the dedication of the existing staff is keeping the library fit & fine.

Though India became a free nation on August 15, 1947, it declared itself a Sovereign, Democratic and Republic state with the adoption of the Constitution on January 26, 1950. A salute of 21 guns and the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Dr. Rajendra Prasad heralded the historic birth of the Indian Republic on that day.
Remembering them we, from NRSMC, celebrated the Republic Day with culutural activities like singing, flag hoisting and tributing the nation.
Ethics and moral values will be a part of the course offered to aspiring doctors of Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College. This course will be conducted be the sanyasi's of Ram Krishna Mission.
Starting from first year to fourth, even the Post graduate Trainee are to be trained through the this course. The principal of NRSMC, Dr. Prof. Debasis Bhattacharyya is taking full initiave to conduct this course.
1st December is the inagural day of NRSMC and the entire course will be discussed there in details.
